“Run For the Red” Half Marathon
This annual event occurs mid-May and features a marathon (a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon), a half marathon and a 5K road race. National Train Day Festival (Honesdale, PA)

Lehigh Gorge Scenic Train Tours (Jim Thorpe, PA)

  • Daily rides in July and August
  • Daily rides Wednesday through Sunday in October (plan ahead, these rides fill up quickly!)
  • Weekend rides only in May, June, September and November
  • Bike trains offered one weekend every month from April through November
  • Santa Claus Special Trains offered weekends only from Thanksgiving until Christmas

Environmental Education

Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is a non-profit organization that is the education partner of the National Park Service in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. PEEC offers an array of events in environmental education, sustainable living and appreciation for nature. These experiences are often experiential and suitable for people of any age to enjoy.A sample of some of their programs include:
